The big pear and Family prayer

Last night for a snack Glen had a pear. I cut most of the pair up into smaller pieces to make them easier for Glen to eat. Then I left part of the pair intact so that John or I could eat it. I went to put the knife in the sink and when I turned back Glen was munching on the big piece of pear I had left uncut. I said "I go to all the trouble of cutting up the pear for you to make it easier to eat and you just have to go for the big piece, huh?" and he replies "ah, ya!"
John and I sure got a good laugh our of that. Not as good as prayer the other day though. We had just begun family prayer and I didn't get further then "Dear Heavenly Father" before Glen lets out the biggest burp I have ever heard. I swear it measured on the Richter scale. I tried so hard to just ignore it and continue to pray, but it's hard to pray out loud when you are holding your breath trying not to laugh. I finally gave up, opened my eyes to see John watching my face turn red, and we laughed together. We laughed so hard and Glen was looking at us like "What's so funny?" Then he started to laugh because we were. After a few minutes we calmed down and started the prayer over again. Ah they joys of having kids. Never a dull moment. =D

Little fishie

I did not notice the little gills when I brought him home from the hospital, my child is a fish. Look at him go. He is like this every time I put him in the tub. Can you imagine the mess I had to clean up when I bathed him in the sink? That is one of the reasons I moved him to the tub so early. I cannot wait to take him swimming for the first time, I know he will love it.

Christmas Weekend

For Christmas this year our family went down to Cedar city. It was great (especially after Glen got over the terrible sickness he got when we were first there. One more reason I am so grateful for the Priesthood and for three worthy Priesthood holders in our family.)

Glen had so much fun playing with his cousin Elijah. Elijah got a tent play house set for Christmas and the boys had so much fun playing in it. It was funny because when ever one of them would say house they would both get really excited and run downstairs together yelling house. I'm really happy they had so much fun together.
Bejamin slept half the day, what did I expect right? He didn't have to rip the paper off the gifts, he just used his drool to dissolve the paper. :) His favorite gift is the Baby Einstein exersaucer that he got from Grammy. I set it up yesterday and Benjamin has been discovering all the toys, sounds and lights. Glen enjoys it a lot as well, he likes to tell Benjamin what the animals and other things are as well as help him lay with it. He will take Benjamin's hand and push it onto a toy to make it work for him. He is so helpful.

The only thing John asked for was a picture colored by Glen. So Glen colored this picture and we got a frame for it. Now it hangs in the living room so daddy can see it all the time. John also got a the latest book in the Wheel of Time series, "Gathering Storm" written by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson. Mom and I worked together to get some things so we can play baseball as a family easier, John got a bat, a net base set to cath the balls, and a bag to hold everything.

We also went sledding while we were down there. That was a lot of fun. There wasn't much snow, but there was enough. We found a little hill close by that both GLen and Elijah could go down by them selves. Hannah even went down by herself in her little sled. Benjamin stayed home with Grammy, but Glen came along and we all had so much fun. I really enjoyed watching Adam and John try to outdo each other on the hill. They tried going down on their bellies and standing up.

All in all we had a great time and really enjoyed ourselves.

They are growing so Fast

Wow, these boys are growing so fast. Benjamin is much bigger then this picture taken at the end of October. Is has the cutest chubby cheeks and he is so long. He still eats like a new born (as in every two hours or more) and is gaining weight so fast. And man can he drool. This kid is a drool monster. If you watch him you can see the steady drip drip that will soak through a bib, a sweatshirt, and a onesie down to his chest. He is so smiley, Benjamin loves to smile. Sometimes he is so busy grinning up at me that he forgets to eat and ends up spitting milk all over me. He is such a joy in our lives.

Now Glen, Glen is learning so fast it absolutely amazes me. At 18 months he has decided it was time to be potty trained and started it himself. The best part for him is seeing mom and dad do the potty dance after he uses the toilet. He is speaking in sentences, love to help take care of Benjamin and clean up. He can count to three on his own and say the alphabet. He still loves to jump and while the trampoline is out of commission for the winter has found a substitute in the couch and his crib. He is ready for a toddler bed too. Wow! A toddler bed and potty training, where did the time go?

Sometimes I wish these two would stay little and stop growing, but I am so enjoying watching them grow up and learn new things. Each stage of development brings more fun and new things to do. Being a mom is so great!
