Fall Fun

We don't have any trees with leaves, so we went around the corner to where there is a tree with great leaves to jump in and we played.

Glen had so much fun he though Benjamin should join in, so he went over and pushed the stroller into the pile of leaves and let Benjamin play, until he was distracted by a truck. Watch the videos one after the other, it will tell the story better then I can.

This was a pumpkin Grandma gave us to make pie with. Glen loves "pakins" pumpkins. He loved playing with this one and the ones we carved. When he broke one open he even tried to eat it, hehe that was funny. Apparently, raw pumpkins don't taste very good. To bad it disappeared shortly after Halloween along with the rest of our pumpkins that I was going to cook. Oh well, we have pictures.

The Windows of Heaven

Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing , that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

The Lord has opened the windows of Heaven to our family. Since John lost one of his jobs a few months ago we have slowly been using up the extra food in the pantry and eating away at our saving account. But we want for little, we are so blessed. Over the past few months I have come home often to find something left on our doorstep. A gift, some cloths, food, different things. Each time we have been given what we need when we need it. Rarely more then a day goes by when I think of something we need that we cannot afford before it shows up on our door step. I know the Lord is looking out for us because some times it is an item that no one knew e needed. A few days before the space heater used to warm the nursery broke I found a pair of Blanket Pajamas in Glen's size, an item I had wanted but told no one about. Yesterday I went shopping and depressed at how little I was able to take home. Today two boxes full of food were given to us.
I do the math and there is no way we should be surviving on one part time job at less then $11, but we are. The Lord has truly opened the windows of Heaven and I feel about to burst with the blessings he has poured out on our head.

Halloween

After we went Trick or Treating we headed to Grandma's house. All the way there Glen asked for a treat. When we got to Grandma's house he ran off and found his treat. He had found an apple. Yay for healthy treats. Glen is a turtle, he didn't like the mask se he just had his shell. He had so much fun trick or treating.
Benjamin was a tiger this year. He got to wear Glen's costume from last year and it was pretty big on him. I called him the saggy baggy tiger. I love his little nose and whiskers, they are so cute.

John was a zombie we spent a lot of time getting his outfit properly ripped and dirty. He was pretty dirty and smelly by the end. His favorite part was the brain flag. If you aren't geek enough to know he is a zombie from the game "Plants vs Zombies" one of his new favorite games. Here John is trying to eat his friend James's brains, some friend ;)

I surprised John with my costume. I put on his USSSA umpire uniform and trick or treated as John. Most people couldn't tell who or what I was, it was mostly to make John smile, which it did.

We had a great time dressing up and going around the neighborhood as a family. I am glad that Glen prefers apples over candy and that he had fun. He was even saying trick or treat by the end of the night.
